Niger Railway Reform Proposal
I propose that the government runs a tendering procedure for these new, proposed passenger railway services. Interested companies would submit bids to operate these rail networks.
Niamey Metro.
I have a proposal for a Nigerian suburan railway system in Niamey. The Niamey Metropolitan Railway- Niamey Metro.
Each line runs every 30 minutes daily.
Lines
Metro Line 1
Niamey Railway Station- Airport with a new rail track section directly to the airport terminal (with or without an underground tunnel track and underground train station). I propose an hourly train service with a proposed extension to airport entranceusing an exiting rail line that passes close to the airport terminal and would be extended to the airport entrance.
Metro Line 2
Niamey Railway Station- Airport -Sorey Bene
Regional services around Niamey
Regional suburban service would be run with an DMU unit.
Line R1:
I propose that the goverment runs a tendering procedure and selects a company to run the services on the "Dosso Railroad". This railway line, which became known as the Dosso Railway, was constructed in recently. It would be reconstructed for a frequent passenger service. Route:
Niamey Railway Station- Airport -Sorey Bene- Dosso
Line R2:
The existing line would be upgraded (increased capacity) for a frequent passenger service. Trains would run every hour. Route:
Niamey Railway Station- Airport -Sorey Bene- Birni-N'Gaoure
