Good afternoon,
last week, it was revealed that the Dutch rail incumbent NS has used the Dutch Finance Minister Wopke Hoekstra in order to pressure several German federal states to give additional state aid to its subsidiary Abellio.
Firstly: it is not right that an EU Member State uses its position as a national government to pressure regional governments in other countries for the benefit of its state-owned operator.
Secondly: if one operator receives extra state aid, then this must be made available to all operators in a non-discriminatory manner.
